Butterfly Kiss

Anyone else remember butterfly kisses (fluttering your eyelash against someone's cheek) or is it just me? These beautiful, delicate creatures are one of my summer favourites but numbers are declining in many areas. So here is a reminder of how lovely they are and maybe a little prompt to add a few butterfly friendly flowers if you're doing any summer gardening.

Back to Normal

The McEtsy page is back in its rightful place on the Etsy teams pages. It had been moved to the 'European' section during the European week but has now been put back in 'Scotland' where it belongs :)

Ahh the Season of merriment, mirth and mayhem is almost upon us all ! I picture us all beavering away completing those last minute orders, satisfying the demands of those last minute customers, while with the other hand we are compiling our lists of to do's and trying not to pull out too much hair. The big day is bearing down on us with the unstoppable inertia of a runaway express train, and if one more checkout girl at the supermarket says to me " are you all ready for Christmas?" I swear I shall I commit an offence with a Christmas cracker ! Ho Ho Ho !

'Tis the Season ...

...to be Merry fa la la la laaaaaa,

I'll spare you all the torture of my bathroom soprano :) suffice it to say that unless you have been living in a cave as a hermit this last year or so you will all be fully aware that the season of cheer and goodwill is about to descend on us, somewhat similar to an avalanche :) I have no doubt that a lot of us are getting very busy as the spectre, er I mean spectacle of Christmas ( or Yule depending on your leanings) approaches. With that in mind I will not be opening a chatroom until after the horrors, I mean festivities, have passed and we all breathe a sigh of relief :)

In the meantime, for those members who are relatively new to etsy and feeling their way around and need a bit of help and support, please do get involved in the McEtsy message board here:-

Getting to know each other.

I would like to pick up the tempo a little now that our team is growing even more, it may be slow but we are getting new members weekly if not daily at times :) I don't suppose we shall ever be a HUGE team, after all Scotland isn't the largest area on the map ! However, I believe that Scotland is a rich and fertile resource for 'craftiness' :) Look how much talent there is here already ! and we have only just begun really !

So, I would like to try to establish a regular weekly chatroom where we can all meet up to chew the fat, exchange ideas, seek and give help and advice, tell jokes, pat each other on the back, laugh together, cry together, support each other and anything else that comes up.

Previous polls seemed to point at Mondays being a good day for this but the trial nights did not prove very successful so I will try again now that our numbers have swelled even more :)

"Hi...........Just thought I'd share the link below with ~McEtsy~ as I was interviewed by Louise who owns ~Catwalk Creative Fashion Blog~. Louise is from Manchester and I met her on Indiepublic. She gave me the chance to answer some fun questions about myself and some questions on my glass jewellery to help me promote my Etsy shop. The reason I am writing actually is to tell you that I promoted Scottish Crafts big time and directed readers of the interview to use the tag (McEtsy) when searching on Etsy. I typed in the tag myself and saw other McEtsiers shops come up but wasn't sure whether everyone in the group was using their tagline to their advantage. It was fun doing the interview and I think Louise would be up for interviewing any McEtsiers who make work relating to fashion. Business Card/Promo Swap Idea

McEtsy goes Live !

Today is the official launch of McEtsy!

Welcome to all our founder members and thank you for your support and encouragement :)

As you know from the convos that I sent you all, we are not expecting you to devote every waking minute to McEtsy. All we ask is that you do as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. If you have content or links you would like including either contact us by email or send one of us a convo.

We are hoping to post regularly in the forums at Etsy and host a chat room too, please support us when you can :)

Starting Up

Tonight Littleshopofdelights & myself (mochadesigns) have been discussing our Scottish McEtsy team application we now have 13 members including ourselves so we'd like to say thank you to all those wonderful people who are helping make this happen. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you all we are open to ideas for this 'clan' such as different activities we can take part in as a group etc.

I will keep this short and end off here, happy McEtsying.
